Oh Drats

I knew I would be bad at this blog thing :(. Hopefully one of these days I will be better at it. I love, love, love reading blogs and I would love to keep a blog up but man oh man I'm not a creature of habit. Right now this is like my own personal journal anyways before I really go public.

So for a quick update. We had a wonderful first Christmas with Paisley. She enjoyed the excitement of the season . On Christmas day we had her sitting in her bumbo seat and she would get so excited her arms would just shake.

We found a wonderful deal on a $200 Schwinn stroller for $50 on craigslist. It was our first Craigslist purchase and what a blessing it is!
It kinda swallows Paisley right now but I can't wait to take walks this spring/summer!!! Joshua sees it as a great 4wheel vehicle and was kind enough to make sure that it could go over anything and everything that crossed their path :).
We celebrated the New Year out here at DRG with friends, fellowship, food, and a big fire
that seemed to grow and grow through the night as the boys found more and more to put on it ;).

We've had a ton of snow this winter. It's so beautiful out here (Doe River Gorge) during the winter time. It's beautiful any time of the year but it's a winter wonderland right now. I hope to be able to get out and get more pictures but in the mean time...
There are beautiful icicles back in the gorge. They are beautiful and huge. I will get more pics and post them.

First Foods

Paisley turned 6 months old yesterday. So today during lunch time we fed her avocado, her first solid food.
She seemed pretty excited about new things.
What the heck are you sticking in my mouth dad?
Oh man, not too sure about this.
 Are you serious?

Haha she was quite dramatic about it but man she was cute! She was so funny. She did start smiling afterwards and got real excited about what she just did so she wanted to talk and talk about it.
Avocado journey to be continued tomorrow...

Backwards Day

This story needs a little preface and it will tell you a little more about me.

I work full time. I've worked full time since Paisley was 4 weeks old. I am by no means a work-aholic, I do  enjoy my job but I would love to be a stay at home mom! It's necessary that I am the full time worker right now. I am the registrar at Doe River Gorge, a high adventure Christian Camp. I am extremely blessed to be there and work in the Christian environment that I do. My husband is working on coming on full time. He has been hired pursay it's just most jobs at Doe River are by raising your support. So while we are in the process of raising his monthly support he stays at home with Paisley. We are very blessed that he is able to stay at home with her.

So story time: When I got off of work and walked into the house he was hanging out with Paisley in the living room. He had her in her bouncer but her head was where her feet should have been. He had her head propped up with a blanket and one of her socks was on her hand instead of her foot. I laughed and said, "What in the world?" My sweet husband replies, "It's backwards day." "Oh right, duh." ;) Paisley happened to think that it was the funniest thing ever and laughed and laughed.

What a funny duo they are and how blessed we are to be able to have him stay with her (although at times I'm jealous, but that's another post).

I wish I would have gotten a picture of backwards day but I was too busy laughing and enjoying to even think about a picture. Not to mention the only camera I have right now is the one on my phone :(. I left my camera at Lonestar and it got taken :(. You think that whoever took it would look and see all the pictures of a sweet baby and realize wow this has got to belong to a loving momma and turn it in but nope, hasnt happened yet. So until the day when the Lord blesses me with a new camera, quite possibly from The Pioneer Woman and one of her sweet nikon or canon giveaways ;), I will continue to try to take pics from my phone, when I remember.

Until then. Blessings,

Janna

"Paisley, meet grass."

Sunday was such a beautiful day! Highs were in the low 80s so Paisley and I took a walk. She is 5 and 1/2 months old. She will be 6 months next Thursday and sadly enough I realized we had never put her in the grass before. So I decided to give it a try.

 Hmmm....

"Mom I'm not sure about this stuff"

 "Oh wait, it kinda tickles"

"Oh my gracious it's so fun!"

Then she had to stop and smile for the camera.

She was sitting on my lap and her little feet were just patting away at the grass.

And we finished up with chilling on mom's lap. Get a load of those eyelashes!!! God has blessed us with a beauty!!!

I couldnt get the video to rotate or in the spot that I wanted it. So I guess you'll have to enjoy it side ways. This video kinda sums up our experience. She thought it was really funny but watch for some of her faces in between giggles, she is still not too sure about it.

Blessings!

It was a gorgeous fall afternoon so we took a walk down to the horsebarn. This is my handsome husband and my sweet baby.

Newbie

I'm going to try this blog thing out. Truth be told I'm a little nervous cause I'm not a creature of habit! But I feel like the Lord has been challenging me in that weakness of mine lately. So I'm going to try to commit to this. I've really enjoyed reading other people's blogs such as, helmshappenings-ethiopia.blogspot.com, so I figured I would give it a go. I've only been a mom for five and half months and I've quickly found out that motherhood is a journey worth writing about!

I don't promise this blog will be void of grammatical errors, as a matter of fact I gurantee it will have them. But bare with me as I start out this new journey. Feel free to offer advise, suggestions, support.

And stop by often for a Helping of the Hubbards.

You'll be seeing a lot of this lovely lady. Miss Paisley Faith Hubbard, our constant source of entertainment, and a daily reminder of God's sweet blessings.
